can one use goflight software without installing sp2  i am having a problem with fsx not showing panels on all planes  when i reinstall fsx it is ok and goflight window comes up but the link does not come up  so i cannot use the modules.  if i install sp2 then everything works for goflight but i have no panels on my planes.  go figure  any ideas

    When you say "the link does not come up", what are you refering to? What link?  do you mean the GFDevFSX.exe bridge? I don't believe the modules will work without the bridge.

    No panels on your planes... Hmmm... What operating system are you using? WinXP, WinVista, Win7... 32 or 64bit?

    I'm wondering if the panel problem is related to the video card? Do you know if your drivers are up to date?

    From a previous post by Pete Dowson:
    "FSUIPC just uses GFDev.dll for the button detection and the Lua gfd
    library. You can drive GF modules more directly, without GFDev.dll, via
    the HID provisions in the Lua com library too, but it shouldn't be
    necessary as GFDev.dll covers pretty much all you need to do."

    So it seems that without the bridge, FSUIPC can detect the modules and with Lua script, control the displays. But that requires manually assigning functions via FSUIPC instead of GFConfig and writing the Lua script yourself. Which I'm guessing you don't want to do.

    The Side by Side error indicates that the Services packs for FSX are not installed.GFdevFSX.exe requires the service packs be installed to run.If you already have them installed reinstall them again as they did not install properly the first time.

    thanks for coming to my my rescue  ok   computer is a gateway fx6831-01 graphics card is  ati radeon hd 5850 1024 mb  three monitors  everything works fine without the sp1 or sp2  patches   when i try to get the link up  i get this error message   " the application failed to start because its "side by side" configuration is incorrect..any idea what this means and how to fix it  thanks again

    it is the gfdevfsx bridge  os win7

    on some computers if you use eyeinfinity the 2 d panels will not show as the are not sized to fit a wide format
