Hello,

We have a new forum!  We are working on getting this up to speed and full of the content that was on the last one.  Please feel free to stop in and say hello.  If you have any content that was added to the last GoFlight Forum, please feel free to upload it to the new Forum.

Thank you for all your continued support.  The road has been rocky at times but we are finally getting over the hump and are very excited for what the future holds for GoFlight.

Thanks,

Tony Varela

  • Finally, I have somewhere to go when I get online.

Is there going to be another "Developers Corner"? Or was I the only one using it.

Sorry guys, progress on GFLS has been slow lately. I still haven't received word that the modules I borrowed from GoFlight has been received. And I'm hoping to borrow some more.

I'm NOT a GoFlight employee, just an avid fan.

    Hi everyone,

Yes I know, it has been tedious jumping from forum to forum.  We certainly intend to be here for a while and we are managing this one ourselves so, we will only be getting in our own way...

Skittles, we can start another Developer's Corner.  I will add this to the list.  As for the modules.  I believe they were received.  Can you email me the confirmation of that package?  Last we spoke you were recovering from the holidays.  No worries on the time, we'll get it all squared away soon enough.

    Thank again everyone.

Hi guys, it's Mike up in Seattle.

Another long time GF customer, with a collection built gradually over the years: 4 radio units which are probably as old as the company itself, 2 rows of push button thingies, two rows of switches, a multi-engine starter module, a GF-45 multifunction device, the GF-Landing Gear / trim wheel thingy, an MCP Pro and EFIS, and a TQ6 with the new 737 handles.

Needless to say I can't imagine simming without the GoFlight modules.   When I'm not working or simming, I fly a real world Cirrus SR22 around.   Simming is cheaper :-)

Hi all, have just joined and am VERY wet behind the ears.   Have had a couple of flights in a Qantas airline sim (thru a friend) and caught the bug.   Having said that, I know nothing about where to start building a sim.   I found this website through simtogo and the gear looks pretty authentic.   I would appreciate any advice on which is the best program to use (most realistic) and basically if I can put together a reasonably good simulator with at least a 4 monitor set-up for around the $30K mark?   I was looking at either a 737 or A320 type set-up.   Remember....I know nothing so keep it in simple terms for me.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Glad you're here.  I don't know if you've had a chance to browse through our product line, but the main advantage is that you can begin peicing your cockpit together unit by unit.  This way you don't have to spend 30k all at once but rather slowly build into your final home cockpit.  Have a look here: http://www.goflightinc.com/collections/systems

These first two systems will get you started and has more than enough to fly a big bodies, both B737 and the A320.  AND these go for a fraction of the price.  If you are ready however to go for the full solution, I would suggest SimToGo.  They really have a nice complete cockpit that run on top of the line computer hardware.

Feel free to contact any of us here at GoFlight.  Hope you find what you are looking for!

Hi, My name is Eddie and I am new to GoFlight, but I'm hoping to be a regular user, I have just bought the MCP Pro and Efis modules to begin a full sized 737 Home Cockpit project. I shall be using the PMDG NGX, so the new interface software from Steve Munn is very much appreciated.

I have a query though, in advance of my new modules arriving I decided to D/L the GFConfigsetup.2.22 exe. I have Norton Internet Security installed. Once the download was complete, Norton analysed the file and removed it as a threat. I got this information on screen,

    Full Path: c:\documents and settings\eddie zetlein\my documents\downloads\programs\gf drivers\gfconfigsetup_2_22.exe

  • Hello everyone, long time flight simmer, and private pilot flying out of KEMT. I am considering getting an instrument rating on Single Engine Land, which is why I started simming again, this time real world instrument flying in mind. I routinely fly the Carendo C182 and Archer PA-28, and sometimes the Pilatus PC 12, my dream ship on Vatsim.
  • Hello to all...Merry Christmas!  I just received my new Commuter pilot system.  I've been very interested in flight simming for some time, but haven't really had time to devote.  Now, I've got a little more time, I want to build a "sure enough" home cockpit.  I've managed to gather quite an assortment of flight panels and monitors (two are touch screen) and of course the new Commuter Pilot system.  I've looked all over, though and can't find instructions...my question:  How do I install the TQ6 throttle levers??  Can I download instructions to another computer or do I have to download it all on the FSX computer??  (I'm planning to use two computers to help split the load) AND I truly wish I had a partner on this deal, but can' t find anyone locally who is also into flight sims. :-(  I've been flying the Baron 58, but would really like to get into the 737-whatever....I have managed to navigate and land a couple times....whew!

If anyone read this...thank you so much for any information you might think I need...I'm very open to feedback, advice, ideas, or would love to have pictures of different setups.

    thanks,  Merril

  • Hi, I'm new to GF and have just purchased my first item. A GF-MCP PRO. I'm having trouble getting it to work. What software should I be loading, and  were do I find it? Thanks

There is also new software avavible from other support developers in recent disscusions
  • Thanks for the help. I downloaded GF-config and selected FS default, but nothing happened. I tried to contact support  because I don't have the number of John in support. I have not heard anything back yet. Sure would like to get this MCP going. How dose it turn on? I checked the addon dropdown on the flight page & GoFlight was not there. By the way I'm running FSX and Windows 8-64.

    Thanks Gary

    Hi Bill,
When you start FX there should be a small GF icon appear on your task bar showing gf config is running.  Check in your goflight folder and there should be a file GFDevFSX  that you can click to manually start the program.

  • Hello everybody!
I am a very long term user of GoFlight user.
I have always managed to get advice through Go Flight directly and had not registered here for a while.
Steve Munn had helped me with programmoing the EFIS for LevelD B767 in FS9.
I have now migrated fully to FSX and was glad to assist with the testing of Steve''s programs for the PMDG B737 NGX.
I will always gladly assist in whatever it is that he develops.
I am excited at the "peek" view of the new yoke and I will not stop bothering John of GoFlight, until they develop a CDU!!! :-)
I am an avid aviation photographer, an avid (but mediocre) cook and a "cool" grandfather.
I retired last year from public service in a Traffic Management Centre.
    I live in Toronto.
    Nice to meet everybody

  • Hello everyone. I am writing to know more about the GoFlight MCP, and EFIS. I am currently fliying twin engine turboprops, but will soon move on to liners. I am a Boeing and MD fan, with the right time I would like to fly the MD-80 Maddog from Leonardo, the Boeing 737, from the Classic to the NG, and the 747. Therefore, considering I won't be focusing on a particular liner, I was wondering if it is still a good idea to get the MCP. So, here are me two questions:

    1) Will I be able to use the MCP on planes other then the B 737? It does not matter if the configuration of the MCP is not an exact replica of what I see on the screen,as long as all the switches work, after all, I believe all autopilots behave pretty much the same way

    2) Is it hard to set the GoFlight MCP, and make it work? I am no way into soldering, or PCBs, I can build a PC, which I did, but the pieces have to be assembled and ready to go, if you know what I mean.

The MCP would be my very first console for liners. Thanks for any input and suggestions you will give me, regards,

    Enrico
  • There is no problem using it for all aircraft. Anything from the C172 to B747 will support all or part of the MCP. Obviously if the plane has no autopilot, then there is no support on the MCP
  • Hi Brand new. I have not decided what sim hardware to buy yet, and I am desparate for advice. I want a semi commercial sim for education purposes, but not certified for Pilot time. I am a novice with boards, and programming etc, I want a plug n play Turnkey solution. I also want to hire someone in Sydney Australia to project manage some of the component to make it more realistic.

Is there a perfect solution for me, without selling one of my kidneys? (perhaps both)
I am also looking at the JetMax product as it appears to be ready to go. muzzza@ozemail.com.au
    Hope to hear from you.
